Mandatory Study Hours

NPHC study hours were created to provide an environment that was conducive to fostering proper studying habits and to promote networking across campus to gain academic support amongst peers. Designated study hours directly address retention issues by providing a space by which Black students can establish a sense of community at a predominately White institution and by connecting them to direct resources that may assist them in their professional as well as personal development.

Study hours are open to all students at Texas A&M University regardless of if you are interested in joining an organization underneath the National Pan-Hellenic Council umbrella.

All students who are interested in joining a fraternity or sorority in the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), however, are required to attend at least 80% of the offered study hours hosted by the National Pan-Hellenic Council or arrange an alternative study hour session as approved by the National Pan-Hellenic Council unless they have a 3.5 cumulative GPR at Texas A&M University. Attendees are required to remain for all three of the hours offered at each study session; attendance will be verified by signing in upon entering and exiting.
