Description of the Retreat:
The
“Uniting Divine Sistahs” retreat is dedicated to empowering freshman and
sophomore African American women at
Retreat Overview:
The “Uniting Divine Sistahs” retreat is a two day out-of-town retreat. Attendance to this retreat is exclusive and highly competitive, offering the opportunity to 50 top applicants. The attendants to the retreat will be selected based on level of motivation, commitment to self improvement, desire to participate, and the ability to maintain a level of professionalism throughout the entire retreat.
The
attendants selected will attend seminars and break out sessions with a
predetermined group of 9 other women. These smaller groups will serve as break
out groups designed to promote and encourage intimate conversation on predefined
topics, each led by a current member of NPHC sorority and Aggie Alumni. Each
seminar will discuss topics such as gender roles, leadership in mainstream
organizations at Texas A&M, healthy body image and effective goal setting. We will leave
Expectations of Retreat Attendants:
- Pay $75 registration fee which will cover all resources, meals, transportation, lodging and a t-shirt.
- Be actively engaged in all activities
- Attend all seminars and breakout sessions
- Adhere to the philosophy of a community of respect
- Abide by all hotel and Texas A&M Student Code of Conduct Rules and Policies+
- Complete all necessary travel information prior to leaving

Compliance Deficiency
Failure to comply with these expectations may result in the immediate termination of your attendance at the retreat at your expense.
